Tracks, artwork, and contributors are the three pieces every release needs before it can be submitted. Here's how to add each.
Quick answer
Upload audio in the Tracklist section by dragging WAV or FLAC files onto the upload card. Upload artwork from the Release details section by clicking the cover placeholder. Add primary and featured artists at the release level in Release details; add per-track contributors (producers, songwriters, etc.) by opening a track from the tracklist.
Step-by-step
Add tracks. Open the release, go to Tracklist, and drag audio files onto the upload zone. Each file becomes a track row with metadata (title, duration) auto-filled from the file. WAV and FLAC only — 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, 16-bit minimum.
Reorder tracks by dragging the handle on the left of each row. You can reorder freely until the release is approved; after that, the track order is locked (see article 2.7).
Edit a track by clicking its title. Inside, set: track title, version (e.g. "Acoustic"), language, explicit flag, lyrics, and the track-level contributors.
Add release-level artists. Back in Release details, scroll to Artists. Add your primary artist (the main credit) and any featured artists. These appear on every track unless you uncheck "use same artists" on a track and set different ones.
Upload artwork. Click the cover placeholder in Release details. Pick a JPEG or PNG, at least 3000 × 3000 pixels, square, RGB. The preview shows you exactly what listeners will see.
Add per-track contributors. Open a track and use Add contributor — pick a role (producer, songwriter, mixer, engineer, etc.) and type their name. If they have a Collabhouse account, link them so they show up in royalty splits later.
Why it works this way
Streaming services treat artists and contributors as two different things: artists are the credit on the cover; contributors are the credits behind the music. Mixing them up causes credits to display wrong on Spotify and Apple Music, and it can also block royalty payments for collaborators.
Common problems
Audio file rejected — must be WAV or FLAC, 44.1 / 48 kHz, 16-bit+, under the size cap shown on the upload card.
Artwork rejected — must be square, at least 3000 × 3000, RGB (not CMYK), no logos, URLs, or social handles.
A featured artist's name is wrong on streaming services — fix it in Release details > Artists before submit. After submit you can still resubmit a correction; see article 2.3.
Contributor list looks long and noisy — use roles to group them; only credit people who actually worked on the music.
Tracks won't reorder — you're past approved; track order is locked from that point on.
