What is Engage and how do I use it?

Engage is your direct line to fans who've opted in. You write a message once, pick a channel, and send it to your whole fanbase or a filtered slice — right now or scheduled for later.

Quick answer

Open Engage, click Create message, pick a channel (email, SMS, or WhatsApp), write the message, choose who it goes to, and either send it now or schedule it. Sent messages show up in the table with their status (draft, scheduled, sent, failed) so you can track what went out.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Engage from the side menu.

  2. Click Create message in the top right.

  3. Pick a channel:

    • Email — longer-form, supports a subject line and rich text.

    • SMS — short, direct, high open rates.

    • WhatsApp — conversational, supports media.

  4. Write the message. For email, add a subject line. Keep SMS short — recipients see them as a regular text.

  5. Pick the audience. By default you send to all opted-in fans on that channel. Filter further if you want to target a subset.

  6. Choose timing: Send now to dispatch immediately, or Schedule to pick a future date and time.

  7. Click Send (or Schedule) and confirm.

  8. Back on the Engage overview, you'll see the new message in the table. Use the status filter (all, draft, scheduled, sent, failed) and the search box to find specific messages.

Editing and reusing messages

  • Drafts can be edited freely — click the row to reopen the composer.

  • Scheduled messages can still be edited or cancelled until they send.

  • Sent and failed messages are read-only, but you can Duplicate them to start a new message with the same content.

  • Delete removes a draft, scheduled, sent, or failed message from your list. Sent messages already delivered to fans aren't recalled.

Why it works this way

Engage only sends to fans who've explicitly opted in to hear from you on each channel. That keeps you compliant with email and messaging regulations and protects your sender reputation. Scheduled messages are dispatched at the time you picked even if you're not logged in. Failed messages usually mean a bad email address or a fan who later unsubscribed — they're surfaced so you can clean your list.

Common problems

  • "Engage" is locked in the menu — Engage is included with specific plans. See Why is a feature locked with a "Pro" badge?.

  • No fans in the audience — you need fans to have opted in first. Build your list through release pre-saves, link-in-bio pages, and contests.

  • Message stuck in "scheduled" past the send time — give it a few minutes; if it doesn't move to sent or failed within an hour, contact support.

  • Some fans didn't receive an email — check the message detail. Failed addresses are listed; sent-but-unopened is normal and not a delivery problem.
