For: Any artist using AI Manager who wants to know where its limits are (NA / RA / EA / LM) You'll need: Nothing — this is a reference article Time: 5 minutes
Quick answer
AI Manager will read your account (within the categories you've permitted) and help you think, plan and navigate. It will not submit releases on your behalf, take money out of your wallet, accept or reject royalty splits for you, post to your social channels, or change account settings without you. Anything that's binding, financial, or visible to other people stays in your hands.
Things AI Manager will not do
It won't submit, publish or take down a release
AI Manager can tell you what's missing on a release, why one got sent back, and where to go to fix it — but the Submit button is yours to press. The same goes for taking a release down, redelivering, or changing release dates. Distribution is a one-way decision once it kicks off, so we don't hand the keys to an AI.
It won't move your money
AI Manager will happily tell you what's in your wallet, what's still pending, and whether your payouts are set up. It will not:
Trigger a payout.
Change your payout method or bank details.
Accept, reject or counter-propose a royalty split.
Approve invoices, refunds or any financial paperwork.
Financial decisions go through the proper page, with proper confirmations, every time. If AI Manager suggests a financial action, it will point you at the page and let you do it yourself.
It won't change account settings on your behalf
Email address, password, language, privacy toggles, plan changes, integrations — all of these need you, the human, in the driver's seat. AI Manager can walk you through what to do and even open the page for you with a confirm card, but it won't flip switches behind your back.
It won't post or message as you
AI Manager is not a social media manager. It doesn't post to Instagram, TikTok, your fan feed, or Collabhouse community for you. It will help you draft something, but the publish button is yours.
It won't talk to other artists or fans on your behalf
AI Manager can suggest how to reply to a collaborator, summarize a long message thread, or help you phrase a difficult message. It will not send messages, accept collab requests, or respond to fans automatically.
It won't make legal, tax or accounting decisions for you
AI Manager can explain in plain English how royalty splits, qualified plays, or pending balances work. It is not a lawyer, an accountant or a tax advisor, and its answers shouldn't be treated as legal or financial advice. For anything binding, talk to a qualified professional.
It won't make things up about your data — but it can be wrong
AI Manager reads real data from your account, so the numbers it quotes come from the same place the dashboard does. That said, it's an AI, and like any AI it can occasionally misinterpret a question or summarize incorrectly. If a number sounds wrong:
Re-ask the question with a bit more specificity.
Open the underlying page (Analytics, Wallet, Releases) and check directly.
Tap Reset AI Context in settings to force a fresh look.
It won't remember things you didn't ask it to remember
AI Manager's memory is explicit-only. Nothing you say in a chat is silently filed away as a "fact about you". The only way something ends up in AI Manager's memory is if you ask it to remember and confirm the memory review card. This is intentional — see article 7.2 for how memory works.
It won't read data categories you've switched off
If you've turned off Wallet in AI Personalization, AI Manager will tell you it can't see your wallet — not give you a guess. The same applies to Profile, Releases, Analytics and Memory. Switch the category on if you want personalised answers from it; leave it off if you don't.
It won't operate without consent
If you've turned off the master Enable personalization switch entirely, AI Manager will let you know it can't act in personalised mode and will point you back to settings. Even with consent, every tool call AI Manager makes is checked against your current toggles — not a cached snapshot from last week.
It won't see things that aren't on Collabhouse
AI Manager doesn't have a live feed of Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, your inbox, or anywhere else outside Collabhouse. If you've connected an integration (e.g. Meta for ads), AI Manager can reference data already pulled into Collabhouse — but it isn't browsing the web in real time on your behalf.
It won't act on guesses about other artists
AI Manager is your assistant. It only ever uses your data. It won't compare you to another specific artist's private numbers, look up another user's account, or share anything about another Collabhouse member.
Why these limits exist
Music distribution, royalties and payouts are real-world, money-moving systems. A mistake — an early submit, a wrong split accepted, a payout to the wrong account — is hard to undo. We'd rather AI Manager be a brilliant prep assistant and let you keep the final say than ship a "do everything" agent that occasionally does the wrong everything. The same logic applies to anything visible to other people (posts, messages, profile changes): those should always feel deliberate.
What to do when you hit a limit
When AI Manager says it can't do something:
If it's a permission limit, you'll usually see a hint about which toggle to flip in AI Personalization.
If it's a plan limit, you'll see an upgrade prompt. See article 7.4.
If it's a deliberate limit (submitting, payouts, etc.), AI Manager will point you to the right page so you can do it yourself in two taps.
Common problems
AI Manager refuses to submit a release for me — by design. See "It won't submit, publish or take down a release" above.
AI Manager refuses to update a royalty split for me — by design. Open the proposal yourself in Royalty Splits and accept or counter it there.
AI Manager gives an answer that feels wrong — re-ask with more detail, then check the underlying page. Use Reset AI Context if needed.
AI Manager forgot something important — only facts you confirmed via the memory review card stick. Ask it to remember explicitly and confirm the card.
